Adorable, simple little black dress, perfect for work or a cocktail hour, depending on how you want to dress it up or down. Made of a medium weight fabric that appears to be raw silk and fully lined in nylon, this dress has as a square neckline, no sleeves, front, side and back darts on the bodice, and triple darts in the front of the skirt with double darts on the back. There is a back kick-pleat on the skirt. The nipped-in waist can be belted if you desire, but has a roll of seam edging encircling it, giving it a polished look without. There is a back metal zipper, helping to date this to the 1950s, perhaps early 1960s. In very good to excellent condition. Measurements are approximate: Bust - 38", Waist - 26", Hips - 40", a modern-size 6/8. The total length is 36" with a hem circumference of 38".
